Start on Core, because it is free
Ballr Core costs nothing and is not a trial. Fixtures, results, match reports, player statistics, teams, your public club profile and the club feed are all in it, permanently.
A club that only wants its fixtures and results organised never has to pay Ballr anything. That is deliberate, and it is not going to change.

Know what Plus is actually for
Plus is the messaging and money half: weekly availability requests, WhatsApp delivery, training, the lineup builder, social graphics, online donations, monthly club fees, and the website API for fixtures and results.
Nearly all of it is about the same problem — reaching your squad and getting an answer back. If nobody at your club is currently spending their week chasing people, you may not need it yet.

Price it on your active players
Plus is priced on how many active players your club has, because that is what drives the cost of reaching them. Set your player count on the plans screen and you see the monthly price before you commit to anything.
Mark players who have left as inactive and they stop counting. A club carrying three seasons of former players is paying for a squad it does not have.

Upgrade, downgrade, or ask about MAX
Upgrading takes effect immediately and the Plus features appear where they were previously locked. Going back to Core is on the same screen — your data stays, the Plus features simply stop.
Above roughly 300 players, or with heavy messaging and payment volumes, Ballr MAX is quoted per club. Get in touch and you get a real number for your size rather than a list price built for someone else.

Is Ballr Core a free trial?
No. It is a free plan. There is no clock on it and no point where fixtures and results stop working.
What happens to our data if we downgrade?
It stays. Your fixtures, results, players and history are yours on either plan — the Plus features simply become unavailable.
Do inactive players count towards the price?
No. Only active players. Keeping your squad list tidy is worth doing for that reason alone.
Can we upgrade mid-season?
Yes, and most clubs do — usually the week they realise they are still chasing availability by hand in February.
